February 11, 2026Toronto Events Blog

Toronto has some of the best free outdoor skating in the world. Here is your guide to the city's top rinks, what to expect, and how to make the most of each one.

The Big Three

Nathan Phillips Square

Toronto's most iconic skating rink, set in front of the famous TORONTO sign and City Hall. Skate under the stars with the downtown skyline as your backdrop. Free admission; skate rentals available on-site.

100 Queen St. W. | Line 1: Osgoode or Queen station

The Bentway

One of the most creative urban reclamation projects in the country. The Bentway's figure-eight skating trail runs under the Gardiner Expressway, with DJ nights, art installations, and a cozy warming area. Free admission and skate lending library. Final day: February 16 (Family Day).

250 Fort York Blvd. | Line 1: Bathurst station

Harbourfront Centre

Skate by the lake with views of the Toronto Islands and the harbour. The rink hosts DJ Skate Nights (through February 14) with live DJ sets while you skate. Free admission; skate rentals available.

Hidden Gem Rinks

Colonel Samuel Smith Park

A large, natural outdoor rink in Etobicoke that feels like skating in the countryside. Less crowded than downtown rinks with a beautiful park setting.

Dufferin Grove Park

A community-run rink with a famous wood-fired bake oven nearby. Hot chocolate and fresh bread after skating make this a neighbourhood favourite.

875 Dufferin St.

Evergreen Brick Works

A smaller rink set in the beautiful Don Valley. Combine with a visit to the Saturday Farmers' Market and a hike on the valley trails.

550 Bayview Ave.
